    Frozen embryos donated to science go to the study of human stem cell research. This robs the embryos of their chances of living. Many pro-life groups oppose this idea because they believe that life begins at the moment of fertilization or conception, when the sperm meets the egg. Thus, it seems true to consider frozen embyos as living beings. However there are a number of courts across the U.S. that have ruled that embryos are merely property.
